Genetic Genealogy vs. Natl Geographic Genome project?

I am interested in having a "deep ancestry" DNA analysis. I have known on National Geographic Genome Project for some time, but I recently discovered the genetic genealogy website. It seems GG is $ 20 more to Natl Geo, but I do not remember offering information Natl Geo surname. What are people's opinions on what project is best? I understand that deep analysis DNA ancestry here does not tell me my great-great-grandfather came from, I would like some help choosing which kit to buy.

Go to Ancestry.com, click the box above who said that DNA, select the appropriate DNA test, then go from there.
