Dog Genealogy Testing

Any recommendations for good pedigree research software?

I’ve just gotten into human genealogy and the program I have (the one one from the Mormons) is really good. Includes name, DOB, date of death, and a place to put pictures, among other stuff. Also can be translated into a nice pedigree for any person in the genealogy.

I’m curious if there’s anything similar for dogs. Obviously you’d be interested in different things for dogs than for humans. DOB, date of death, cause of death, titles, various test results, etc.

Basically, I’m not looking for something that lets people print their own pedigrees (though that’d be a nice benefit), but something where people who are doing serious genetic research can keep track of what they find.

Is there anything like that out there?
I’m not looking for something with names already inputted. I just need the spaces to input them, much like the human genealogy software. Keep track of research.

I take it you’re looking for something for the Mac. I haven’t found much as yet. There is a fairly decent free one for Windows, called WinCanis, but unless you’re running one of the programs that allows you to run Windows on the Mac, it’s not going to be much help. It did have the ability to calculate a COI (coefficient of inbreeding), which is a nice feature, and probably will be in any decent program. I may look again at the Breeder’s assistant, but not sure what platforms it runs on.
