Round trip snailmail to Mexico – security?
I’ve been reading about concerns over sending packages to Mexico.
What I want to do is send a medium sized manilla envelope with a letter, a few dozen sheets of paper (genealogy forms for my relatives to take a look at and fill in the blanks for), a return envelope, and return postage in the way of one of those $2 return postage vouchers. It’ll be going to Guadalajara.
Should I be concerned about my mail not getting there or not coming back? Frankly, I’m more concerned about it not coming back once the information is filled in. If it doesn’t get there, I can always send it again.
Any tips? Past experience with snail mail back and forth to Mexico?
I periodically have mail sent to me in Mexico, and it is not a sure-thing. You absolutely should have it sent to a business address. The home-mail delivery success rate is horrible.
Honestly, I would make the investment for a DHL shipment. It will cost you a lot more (I usually spend about $40), but the peace of mind is worth it.
