Genealogy Charting

Who to include in my genealogy chart?

This is a second marriage for both of us(he’s white and I’m black) … I’m doing a genealogy chart and I wondered should I include his family in it?
We have been married for 3 years(no children of our own) and his children(they are all grown and range in age from 26 to 30)) are from his first marriage(that end after 23 years)… one friend suggested since there’s no blood relation they shouldn’t be included and another friend suggested that after listing my spouse and his kids( make a notation they are from a previous marriage.)
Which idea do you think is best or do you have another suggestion?

I may be wrong but my view on this is, when you marry someone you become a part of all that they are. They are his children so that makes them part of him. List them with the notation if you like but don’t leave them out. You are part of a united family which doesn’t mean you have to be blood related it just means that you all care about each other.
