Christians?

In their temples the Latter Day Saints perform a ceremony called ‘Baptism for the Dead’. The goal is to collect vast genealogies and go through thousands of proxy baptisms so everyone has the opportunity to enter one of three Mormon eternal kingdoms.

Writing to the Church at Corinth the Apostle Paul addresses the subject of Baptism for the Dead. Question. Do you believe some of these Corinth Christians were practicing this ritual? Or, was Paul just giving a warning not to do this?

Paul was trying to get the people to understand that there is a resurrection of believers from the dead. In Paul’s day people were practicing this ritual and he was warning us not to do it.
