What is the best genealogy software out there and why do you think is best?

Looking for a good genealogy software package that run on Microsoft Windows XP. I have used Family Tree Maker in the past, however, you never know if you have the latest version. It seems to come up with a new version almost once a month. Please keep the price, quality and ease of use in mind when giving a recommendation. I would also save a picture or two (at least) of the person, scans of documents on the person, and maybe even a voice recording if possible.

I use Family Tree Maker and find everything in it who I want. Many locations for the photo, notes, maps and such. Usually only once a year to update their program. I like the book that is part of the program.
