How do genealogy research without contact ALL members of your family?
There is a specific one (creepy) member of my family want to avoid like the plague but want to investigate my heritage … Is this possible without contacting said creepaziod? Thank you!
obtain maximum other family information as possible and avoid creepaziod only. Ask family Bibles, marriage, birth, death certificates and a copy of the information. Also, depending on the faith baptistmal, first communion, confirmation, marriage certificates can give much information Go to public library and discover so all they have. They have a subscription to Ancestry.Com you can use. Ancestry.Com has a lot of records. They all U.S. through censuses 1930. The 1940 and later are not available to the public yet. They have UK censuses also. Just do not take as an absolute fact that you see in everythning family trees on any website, free or paid. The information is subscriber submitted and mostly non-documented or poorly documented. Even when you see the same information repeatedly by many different users, which is not to ensure it is correct. A lot of people copy without verifying. Use the information as clues where to obtain documentation. A Family History Center in the Latter-day Saints (Mormon) Church has records of people around the world, not only Mormons. They are free to use, but you need to know their hours to the general public. In Salt Lake City, they have on the world's largest genealogical collection. Your Family History Centers can order microfilm for you to see at a nominal price. I never had to try to convert me or send their missionaries knocking on my door. No I have heard of them doing that to anyone either. The library and the family history center which will meet with other researchers and exchange of ideas and experiences can be very valuable.
