Is Portuguese considered to be Hispanic?

Its been a light debate with my wife, ever since I started learning my family genealogy. My great great grandfather was native to the Azores (the Portuguese islands in the Atlantic), last name Brazill. That makes me 6%. From a brief look on the internet, there seems to be some conflicting ideas on if Portugese is should be classified as “hispanic”.

NO,hispanic means a spanish speaking person from a spanish speaking country in Latin America.People from Spain dont count.
