Was Jesus really a poor and peaceful carpenter as christians make him out to be?
If Jesus was of the lineage of Solomon, he would have come from a royal bloodline–one of the wealthiest bloodlines of the ancient world. He also spoke aramaic, which was a language reserved for nobleman and diplomats. Jesus may have been the true heir to the throne of Israel based on his genealogy. That being the case he was probably a warrior as well. The Bible talks about Peter cutting off the ear of one of his master’s enemies. Those 12 guys probably used all manner of violence and diplomacy to retake the throne and give it back to the rightful owner, and it may even be true that the average jew hoped he was successful so the foreign occupying authority could be removed. Let’s look at the life of Jesus in a more realistic and political light. What was the political climate like in his day. Read Messianic Legacy. Really Interesting. Hope no one is offended.
Why would I read a pack of lies like the messianic legacy? Its nothing more then another Da Vinci Code type writing that has no basis in reality.
Aramaic is the language for nobleman and diplomats? You need to get your information from sources other than fiction books. Aramaic was the language of the common man of the street during that day. Coptic Greek was the common language of the Roman Empire and Latin was the language of the Aristocracy of Rome.
Wealthiest Bloodline? Ok you are again getting your information from Fiction not reality. Yes Solomon was indeed wealthy but with the fragmentation of the nation of Israel into two nations, Israel and Judah much of the wealth was then split. Further the two nations were then consistently raided by the Assyrians and Israel was captured and dispersed not to rise as a nation again until 1948. Judah hung on until it was conquered by Babylon years later. Any wealth would have been taken during those times.
There is no wealth of Solomon, it ceased to exist at least 700 years before Jesus was born.
Jesus from the age of 12, apprentice age, took up the trade of his father, we know this because he is described as a carpenter in a number of places. As to a warrior, no he was not here in that capacity at this time. It was what the Jews were looking for but one thing that stands out as you read the bible is that God does things his way not the way man expects. When he returns it will be as a King and a warrior and there will be no doubt as to who is in charge.
