In 1967, seventeen years after it was first published I read the book by L. Ron Hubbard, Dianetics, but it was not until 1970 that it was able to investigate their new found science of the mind. It was after selling my share of our jewelry store for the family I packed my bags and moved to Phoenix, AZ. In order develop and distribute an invention that I created. But that's another story. My story today is my experience with L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.
First, say that my experience has been positive, unlike many of the stories that have floated in the media over the years. If you are unfamiliar with Hubbard and Scientology here is a little history. Born in Tilden, Nebraska in 1911 and later moved to New York and began writing science fiction articles and books. In 1950 he devised a self-help technique that has been outlined in a book called Dianetics, Science of Mind. From this book and marketing techniques Hubbard and personality, the centers were opened to apply the technique. Located in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Phoenix and others who became popular among the public.
Scientology was feared and seen by some as a cult mind the program so that it can be dangerous to national security. Soon, the IRS developed to find out about it. The IRS raided the downtown Washington and confiscated all the personal records of customers to know exactly what happened in schools. Hubbard, in an attempt to get government off our backs took measures to a Church of Scientology. Even moved the headquarters of a ship he called the Sea Org. His ability marketing seemed to work as the doctrine of the Church of Scientology reached more than six million members worldwide. It still works and the press remains negative comments, often writing about the members of celebrities Tom Cruise, John Travolta and others.
In my understanding of the effects of Scientology was to bring people to a state called "Clear". The process was open to recall moments of pain from the last pain that you remember. Backwards and then proceed to the next and the next, back through this life and continue to go back through past lives until the pain can not be cited. This was achieved through a process called auditing. The auditor uses a machine that calls and e-meter, which recorded the skin reaction as the person being reacted to the times recorded.
Although I never met Hubbard, who died in 1985 my Scientology experience was rewarding. The stories happened to me during auditing sessions that seemed science fiction, but in the back of our minds what appears to be the imagination could easily be real in another dimension. The most profound of my experience was the total loss of fear of death and of being responsible for myself. If things went wrong for looking in a mirror and say, what did I do to do that? Another benefit was the way of interacting with people. In conversation always try to find the other person before reaching the details of their ideas. When successful you can be fully expressed and can decrease the communication failure. With my tools of Scientology I think my life is an experience much more positive.
• My biggest FEAR in life is becoming dependent.
• The idea of depending on my boss, a medical doctor, expensive insurance or the government for my health care does not feel right.
