Best genealogy software to see the brothers, cousins, importing, easy to use the photos?
I am willing to buy genealogy software and I am confused by comments and what you can do what. I'd like: A. See me, my brother and my grandmothers and aunts, first cousins in a table-(although one wide!) (Not just me and direct ancestors) B. Attach photos and personal histories of input C. Link to other trees in line when a connection is made. D. Attach information Island.org Ellis, Ancestry.com and other online databases. (Just Family Treemaker Ancestry.com provide an import?) E. Easy, simple user interface. I am not computer saavy. I need something easy to use. F. Editing capabilities a plus! Thank you very much for your advice!
I think that Family Tree Maker suit your purposes! I used the FAP and have used Family Tree Maker and I prefer the interface of Family Tree Maker. Some of the newer versions have been great. It has Built in the soundex calculator, date calculator and the calculator relationship. (that PAF also offered.) For reports, you can run a report of one's ancestors particular person, a report descendant of a particular person, a report that shows both the civil and kinship relations fee or you can create a custom report with only the individuals you choose. You can print reports that have: Birthday marriage information medical information of individuals living Address Then you have reports visual trees that can be done as the trees of ancestry or pedigree charts Descendant trees trees Hourglass — these are the trees that show both ancestors and descendants of a particular individual of their choice and every one of these trees — ancestor show not only the relations or direct descendant, but all relationships, such as aunts, uncles and cousins. Family group sheets women can search not only by her maiden name, but by their surnames of married as well. You can also import pictures and create books. It also maintains statistics such as how many people you have in your tree, how many generations its longest line has many unique names last are your tree, how many marriages you have in your tree and the birth before recorded. The Fusion is easy to make with this program. For example, if you have a set of brothers who married two sisters and has introduced a set of parents in twice. individuals can combine duplicates so you can see all their children together. You can use the search function if you so choose to seek information additional to other trees, but I never use that feature. It compares the names and dates of your file with those already established in the descent, and gives ideas for future research. Note: these are just ideas for future research. I never recommend importing someone elses tree on your own. Introduction of the sources is also very easy. I am not interested in the LDS in my tree ordinances. There are some bells and whistles that Family Tree Maker has it, and frankly, I like how Family Tree Maker is visually unlike their ancestors. (I am a visual person) There is no right or wrong answer here. Everything is in their preferences. One thing I always wanted to do my genealogy program and I have yet to find a genealogy program to perform only one. It really is quite simple. I would love to start my program to all individuals born, married or died in a particular place and print a report. That would be very useful if one were to go to a library or repository of records in a particular county and be able to get a report with all its trees with ties to that county. If someone has found that the role, please e-mail and let me know. Meanwhile, I hope that the information in my answer was helpful. Blessings. PS By the way, the price of Family Tree Maker varies depending on what CD's come with it. You can get just the program for about $ 30.00 on descent, or you can get a version Prior to E-bay for dirt cheap … The software does not change much between versions, so if you get an older version and try it, you'll know if you want to invest in the latest and best version.
