There are many reasons England are in the top of the list for U.S. study overseas students. More Americans study in England than any other country in the world. On the one hand, we speak English! It's like an easy transition to make when you take life and communication in a foreign language out of the tension to go abroad. In addition, we, as Americans, are intimately familiar with the history and culture. Who has not had to read Shakespeare, Chaucer, Dickens or high school? And we all know about the historic sites, Stonehenge, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Big Ben, etc.. I'm sure, as most of us are descendants of a person in the UK, you must have a role to play in the choice of England as the main destination for study. If you are interested in genealogy, you can even take some time on weekends to research their environment family. My brother visited Scotland and finally tracked down some of our family history in the area.

I studied at the London School of Economics during a summer session Graduate School. I had a great experience. The visiting teachers were members of the European Parliament and successful entrepreneurs. Our travel group included Lloyds of London, the Land Rover plant, and seeing the crown jewels of the kingdom in an underground vault in the Tower of London. Also, my dorm room had a pub in the basement, you can not beat that!

There are programs for everyone, the occasional traveler who wants to learn more about a specific topic sessions summer session of college credit, programs for high school, and, as I mentioned earlier, Graduate programs. The three main cities should examined are London, Oxford and Brighton. London, obviously, will have most of the programs available, because it is a great city. The great benefits of studying here are many things to see and do as shopping, nightlife, and visit historic sites. Oxford is a smaller city and has lots academic University students to move. The benefits of studying here is that you can easily meet other students in the UK. Brighton is a small sea of the central coastal resort about an hour from London. The benefits of studying here are that the city has two universities, so there are a large number of students is a good starting point to visit France across the channel, and if you are lucky to study there in the spring or summer, you can attend a three week period City-wide celebration May, the Brighton Festival.
