Genealogy Social Networking

On these social networking websites, if someone sends you a friends request and you accept are you suppose to?

get in touch with them? Also, on a genealogy website someone was looking for descendants of a person, I spent an hour composing an email, never got a reply. When will Yahoo have facility that the sender will know if the email has been read or not?

I suppose that depends on how close you are/where to them, some people just add you ’cause they want to make up numbers. It’s basically your choice whether you want to or not, I’d say I only actually speak to about a quarter of my f/book friends, but kinda felt like I had to accept the others that I only know vaguely… Hmm, I don’t know about the e-mail thing, but it would be pretty good to get a delivery and/or read report like you do with texts.. can you get in touch with them any other way? Check the e-mail adress again too, because something silly like using capitals might mean it’s not been sent to the right person.
