(At least one of Gustave’s parents was b. France in 1920 and 1910; in 1900 both of Joseph’s were. This is probably him, cleverly switching his first and second names to throw us off the track, but I’d only give even odds on it.)

The IGI has an Arnand Descant marrying
Clarisse LABORDE on 07 JAN 1892 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana; if it is true, Edvise probably died.

They spell “Arnand” “Arnaud”. The data base named “Avoyelles” by Jerry Bordelon is impressively well-researched. It has Arnaud’s father, Dominique.

Mr. Bordelon writes:

In the 1900 Census he is shown as a single man living next door to his father and stepmother. He was farming. Living next to him of the other side was Louis and Rosina Bordelon. Joseph later married their daughter Louisiana.
