does anyone know if canada has an index similar to the social security death index?

the social security death index is a record of deceased individuals…i am looking for my father who i’ve been out of contact with for over 25 years genealogy sites have not been helpful

well it depends where you believe your father last lived?
i suggest you get into contact with the officials of that city.
i don’t think its quite legal to give out names of the deceased without a legally backed reason.
