Watkins in Tennessee – genealogy help needed?
I need the parents’ names of Essie P. Watkins born in 1911.
Essie married Dan Watkins and had 3 daughters and 1 son.
The son died early in his life (19 or 20 years old, I think) and I don’t know his name. Their other daughters were Patricia Brackett (Watkins) who was my grandmother and died in 1961, Marjorie Watkins (I don’t know her married name), and Kathlene Beavers (Watkins) who is married to Kenneth Beavers.
Essie died in 2005 and Kathlene donated her body to the body farm in Knoxville. She lived and died in Chattanooga, TN.
Essie’s last name was different. Watkins in her married name, not her maiden. The county would be in Hamilton not Hamblen. I live in Hamblen county and that is 2 hours away from Hamilton lol

The census notes that Will C ( Essie’s dad) was a farm labourer, her mum Hattie wasn’t employed. The family lived in rented accommodation and they were all born in Tennessee.
Did Essie marry a man with the same surname as her family, or have I found the wrong person for you ? Could you clarify please.
