German Name Genealogy

I have to do a genealogy project and I am stuck on if more than one of my ancestors?
In what appears to be German, but has the name for KLINK and research he did, said it was of Slavic origin. The strange thing is, this is my side, mothers of the family who is also Hungarian and said he had some Slavs who settled there. to make things even crazier, the coat of arms of Hungary is the cross of Lorraine, which is also in the flag of Slovakia. to the label, along with that, my mother mentioned that part of his family lived in Czechoslovakia. then she told me to look at the bohemian and wine up with Germany and Czechoslovakia. she also told me to look to Moldova, only in Romania, but Romania is right next to Hungary and the document on Moldova refernence made to Hungary. all that follows up after Hungary and I can not say how much can come Klink, someone can help me?
You viewing a map of Europe as it is now. Try looking at a map of Europe in 1914 and everything will be much clearer. Most areas of your name, Slovakia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, etc. were part of Austria-Hungary. Map so that you can be a German born in Prague with a Hungarian name whose mother is Croatian, as they were all in the Empire. See below. For his family, go with what you know – do not assume anything because of a surname. So if you know your grandmother was born in Budapest – the pursuit of records there.
