house genealogy

Since I came to Canada in September 2000, I have moved twice. First, he lived in a house and then I moved to a cottage-type plants and then 5 years, I moved to a level of 4 Back house divided which is just 5 blocks from where I lived.

I never had trouble selling the 2 houses living in houses and when both were on sale, I bury a St. Joseph statue upside down, as usual. In fact, in both cases, I could sell my house after 2 weeks at a reasonable price.

Being a devotee of San Jose, I prayed and asked the intercession of St. Joseph. But instead of burying a statue of St. Joseph, here's what I did.

First, put a blessed statue of St. Joseph by the window in my dining room because this is the window facing my garden and the street. I wiped a bit of the holy oil of St. Joseph in it (do not ask me why, I felt like it) and then delivered a ninth of nine days to San Jose. Of course, I asked God first and asked him to answer my prayer, in accordance with his will. And the result: my house began to sold after 10 days and my second home after 12 days!

I have nothing against burying a St. Joseph statue upside down, as other when selling your home. Like all other religious rites, I look at least as suggested performing the ritual to exact specifications, but rather as an act of faith, believing that St. Joseph will pray for us if we ask her intercession.

As Francis X. Weiser noted in his book, "The Handbook of Christian feasts and customs ", if these rituals are practiced in the right spirit, ie, based on the belief that the saints in heaven pray and intercedes for us, and without what he calls "unreasonable superstition", our belief in the patronage of the saints offered "a great consolation in temporal and spiritual need."

Certainly, factors, there are others involved in selling a house quickly at a reasonable price, as the state of the economy, a private sale as against using a real estate agent etc, but when it comes to praying for a house for sale at the right time and at the right price is all about faith, not in the rituals one performs.

While I believe that making a ritual reinforces the faith, the conclusion is that faith that God hears our prayers, that the saints are there to pray for us, if we ask, and that the response to our prayers is underway, according to God's timing and God's way.
