Some of the tribes have some of the rolls online. Google “Cherokee”, for instance and you find

http://www.cherokee.org/

which leads to

http://www.cherokee.org/Services/Registration/151/Default.aspx

which says

The Cherokee Nation DOES NOT do genealogy researching. Information and links below are NOT MAINTAINED BY the Cherokee Nation. Other locations for information on Genealogical research may be found on the internet as well. Remember that there is a great satisfaction in doing the research yourself, and remember the burden of proof lies with you, the applicant. Good luck in your research.

So you know they get a gazillion requests a day saying “My grandma had straight black hair and a hooked nose. Please send me my money”

Other tribes have other web sites. As a previous post and the Cherokee nation said, the burden of proof is on you.

You might also check the Family History Center nearest you. They are in LDS churches but they don’t try to convert you. They can help. They may have access to the rolls. They may not.

The Cherokees also said
