Why are 29 generations listed from David to Jesus in Matthew’s genealogy, while Luke’s (3:23-31) has 43?
One of many contradictions. My question is what’s the point of listing the generations from David to *Joseph* if Joseph wasn’t his father. If the Messiah is supposed to come from David’s line, and Mary was a virgin, why didn’t it lead to Mary?
