Legacy Genealogy
Do Mary and Joseph have a living legacy? Like someone in their genealogy who is alive today?
Who is the last recorded person in their bloodline? Where can I get this information? Does anyone know?
This would be proof positive that Jesus existed as far as I’m concerned. The absence of such information would be more evidence for the case that he did not. These would be records that would be traced very carefully, given the importance of the family.
It is likely that they do. However, in 70 CE when the Temple was destroyed all of the genealogies were destroyed along with it.
Up to that point you could have traced any Jewish ancestry all the way back.
edit– What we do have are the books of James and Jude, Joseph and Mary’s sons and half brothers of Jesus. Both written after the ascension of Jesus. To my knowledge, we do not have much after this. James was written very early, in the 40CE range.
