Strangest names in your family tree?
I’ve been doing some genealogy and I’ve come across some really strange names. The weirdest one of all is my gggggrandfather – his name was Malaza Breault. Seriously – MALAZA?! I have never heard that name anywhere and cannot even find it online other than other people in genealogy forums going, “huh????” Two of his brothers were named Baptiste and Narcisse…
Second and third runners up would be my grandmother’s great aunts named Thora and Severina (from Norway).
Fourth would be my gggrandmother’s middle name – Ghislaine. Her name is Juliette Ghislaine ( from Belgium). Two of her boys had awful names – Florimond and Orval.
