family tree maker 2010, Genealogy software?

I was disappointed with FTM 09 when i upgraded to Vista and I am looking for reviews of FTM 2010. I’ve learned that new and improved isn’t always the case. Specifically i’ve found it suggests new ‘finds’ to be my own information I have submitted and the formats have not impressed me, nor has the search capability and that is is not very user friendly. The older FTM16 would allow you to post a web page and update it periodically but hence is no longer compatible with the 2009 program.cnet has no reviews of FTM to date. Comments?…

I moved from PAF5, which I had used for years. I’m using Windows 7 as well. I love the functionality of it, but the stability, at least for me, is awful. I lost a months worth of work at one point because somehow the index of all the people got messed up. I’m sticking with it (with frequent backups) mainly because I bought it. If I knew the trouble I had going in – when I was going to buy – I would definitely have passed on it.
