Understanding the roots of Mormonism

There is no doubt that religion is undoubtedly necessary for the daily life of a man. It gives a sense of purpose and also gives you a moral guide. Today, one of the most popular religion and part of the Christian religion is the movement of Latter-day Saint or more commonly known as Mormons.

However, not many people know about the genealogy of the Mormon Church. Mormon is considered to be adherent to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. According to history, the term "Mormon" comes from the Book of Mormon. This particular book is a religious text that a person named Joseph Smith, Jr. translated. The book contains information on the history of the first inhabitants of the Americas and was written and compiled by a prophet named Mormon.

You have to consider that Mormons are neither Protestants nor the members of this religious sect is not considered as an important part of Christianity. However, they regard themselves as Christians who also believe in Jesus Christ and what he represented.

Mormon history is definitely not an unforgettable experience. They have fought and suffered persecution of religion and another sect of Christianity. According to the Book of Mormon, the Mormon prophet living in the Americas during the fourth century was called by God to compile the records of his people and compiling in one book.

After the death of Mormon, his son called, Moroni witnessed the persecution and the complete destruction of his people. He is also the person who buried the original Book of Mormon in a hill called Comorah, now called the State of New York.

After 1400 years, Moroni is said to have been sent by God as a messenger to a man named Joseph Smith, Smith Jr. was sent by Moroni to the place of burial of the book and instructed to translate it into English. To say that Smith did not even know about the language that was written in the book, translated the Book of Mormon more complete and accurate. These miraculous events have Smith as a prophet of God.

However, the Mormon people's struggle not end there. Smith was murdered in 1844 by a mob in a Carthage, Illinois jail. After that terrible year, most of the supporters of Mormons Brigham Young began after he became president of his denomination. He then proceeded to an exodus to Salt Lake City, Utah, which now has the largest population Mormons worldwide. Other claimants to the Church Presidency led his followers to other locations throughout the United States and some stayed behind in Nauvoo, Illinois.

To this day, the term "Mormon" was used to describe group of Brigham Young in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, smaller groups have adopted the Latter-day Saints and have made efforts to reject the use of the word "Mormon" to describe their group. In his opinion, made no reference Jesus in the Church of Mormon and the Latter-day Saints Church is its central figure.

You have to understand that Mormon are very different terms of theology, practice and culture among other religious sect, such as the Mennonites, Religious Society of Friends, Jehovah's Witnesses and the Amish.

This is the genealogy of the Mormon Church. As you can see, Mormons are very different from Christianity and other forms of religious sect.
