Social Security Application Genealogy

What do the extra numbers on a social security application mean?

I am doing genealogy research and requested my grandparents and great-grandmothers social security applications. They were issued in the late 30′s and early 40′s. Next to the last name and below the actual SSN there are 3 numbers written. Does anyone know what they are for or what they mean? I have included an example link of what I mean http://www.idreamof.com/ss5/images/walker_ralph_andreason_1917_0924.jpg In this case the number is 426. On mine the numbers are 235 and 232. 232 is on both my grandmothers and her mothers so they must mean something.

I do not know, but I believe it has something to do with claim status/eligibility; i.e., primary person, dependent, elibility of dependents, etc.
