Former NFL first-round pick Matt Jones faces an uphill climb to stick on the Jacksonville Jaguars' roster this year amid a surplus of receivers. Jones has been a disappointment in his three seasons, producing only 1392 yards and 13 touchdowns.

No one doubts the athleticism of the former Arkansas quarterback – who is 6-foot-6, 238 pounds, has a 4.37 40 yards and has a 39.5 inch vertical jump, but they have always been questions about his work ethic, even in college.

Good, Jones field now on the list seems questionable, since he was arrested in Fayetteville, Arkansas, police early Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The Office of the Washington County Sheriff says officers arrested Jones and two other men sitting in a Toyota 4Runner in a parking lot in illuminated an area not known drugs.

The preliminary arrest report shows an officer saw Jones sitting in the backseat of the car with a white card with white powder substance in it and a credit card in hand. The report says that Jones told one of the officers that the white powder was cocaine (six grams of The substance later tested positive for cocaine)

The officer said he opened the door and asked Jones to "put your hands where I can see them.

Authorities say Jones did not immediately comply and hid his left hand. The officer drew his gun and ordered Jones out of the vehicle. Jones came down and the officer put in handcuffs.

The Jaguars are raving about 2007 third round Mike Walker, and former Vikings plunder Troy Williamson also has been having an excellent season with the team. Having a reputation for dropping balls, Williamson has caught almost everything thrown his way in the offseason. But he did the same offseason passed in Minnesota, to continue a season plagued by drops.
